The SECURUS Internship

SECURUS offers a selective internship to undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates seeking to gain experience in international trade, security, and development.

The SECURUS internship consists of three main components:

  • Education and training in history, economics, international trade, international security, nonproliferation, and the study of transnational crime;

  • An independent research project that the intern presents to SECURUS team members at the conclusion of the internship; and

  • The opportunity to contribute to SECURUS projects.

Past internship projects include studies of:

  • U.S. export regulations;

  • Foreign trade regulations in Singapore;

  • Anti-illicit trafficking laws and regulations in Nigeria; and

  • COVID-19 legal-regulatory responses around the world.

What Are the Benefits of the SECURUS Internship?

The SECURUS internship enables interns to experience the professional world of international affairs and gain important training and expertise in international trade and security, nonproliferation, and trade regulation and compliance.

After the internship, SECURUS interns have gone on to:
