Singapore Updates Strategic Goods Control List

Singapore Customs released Circular No. 08/2018 on September 4, 2018, notifying the public that the Strategic Goods (Control) Order 2018 would enter into force on November 1. This order brings Singapore’s Strategic Goods Control List into alignment with the Wassenaar Arrangement’s 2017 Munitions List and the European Union’s 2017 List of Dual-Use Items.

The Singaporean government also amended the Strategic Goods (Control) Regulations and the Strategic Goods (Control) Brokering Order to reflect references to the new order. Both sets of amendments took effect November 1. The amendments do not modify the scope of existing transit, transshipment, or brokering controls.
